Tanning Preparation

So you've decided to get an airbrush tan. Now you need to know how to prepare yourself so that you can get the best results possible.

Well look no further! Here's the low-down on all the steps you should take to prepare yourself for the best airbrush tan you can get!

Step 1: Exfoliate

The very best way to extend the life of an airbrush tan is to exfoliate your skin. Use whavever exfoliation method you prefer, including loofas and exfoliating scrubs. Just make sure you have scrubbed yourself to perfection within 12 hours of your appointment time.

For your convenience, Maquillage Pro offers its own natural sea-salt exfoliating scrub, available at our online store or in any Maquillage Pro Beauty salon location.

Step 2: No Lotion, Makeup, or Deodorant

Make sure not to apply any lotions, makeup, deodorant, or other creams or topical treatments to any areas of your body where you would like the tan to adhere.

If needed, Maquillage Pro has plenty of makeup-removing wipes on hand. Feel free to remove your makeup or deodorant when you arrive.

Step 3: Be Prepared to Wait 4 to 8 Hours Before Showering

Once you have had your airbrush tan applied, it will take a few hours to set in. You should wait for at least 4 to 8 hours after your appointment to shower off the solution.

If possible, it is best to wait the full 8 hours before showering. This will ensure that your tan has been allowed to fully set into your skin.

Step 4: Bring Garments to Wear During Tanning

You may wear whatever clothing you wish during your airbrush tanning session. Many people wear undergarments, bathing suits, or other brief clothing during tanning. If you wish, you may also tan in the nude.

No need to worry about staining. When you launder your clothes, the solution will wash out.

Step 5: Bring Dark Loose-Fitting Clothing

Though our tanning solutions do not stain clothing, it is possible that you may see some solution rub off onto your clothes when you put them back on. The best way to conceal this is to wear dark clothing.

We recommend that you wear loose-fitting clothing afterward, as tight clothes can rub and constrict a freshly applied tan, leaving unsightly streaks or marks.
